Face-to-face practical exams have long been the benchmark for musical achievement. ANZCA continues this tradition with a modern twist, combining rigorous assessment with a supportive, encouraging environment for a truly positive learning experience.
ANZCA’s Face-to-Face exams provide students with the opportunity to showcase their musical skills in a supportive, one-on-one setting. Candidates can choose between two types of practical exams:
Performance Exam – Focused purely on playing or singing, this exam allows candidates to present a program of four pieces. It is ideal for those who wish to demonstrate musicality, interpretation and stage presence, without the additional requirements of technical work or theory.
Comprehensive Exam – A comprehensive assessment balancing performance with musicianship skills. Candidates prepare set pieces along with supporting elements such as technical work, general knowledge, sight reading/improvisation and aural tests. This structure ensures well-rounded development and a deeper understanding of music.
